Redmi, a spun-off brand of Xiaomi, today confirmed the arrival of the Redmi Note 12 smartphones in India. The Redmi Note 12 will launch in India on January 5, 2023, joined by the Redmi Note 12 Pro series, consisting of the Redmi Note 12 Pro and Redmi Note 12 Pro+.
The upcoming Redmi Note 12 series, including the vanilla Redmi Note 12, will be 5G enabled. The teaser for the vanilla Redmi Note 12 today went live on Amazon, highlighting the key features of the upcoming Redmi Note smartphone.
What We Can Expect
According to the teaser, the Redmi Note 12 has an AMOLED display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor with a 5G modem, 33W fast charging, and a triple camera setup of 48MP and 33W fast charging. As the teaser suggests, the Redmi Note 12 will be Xiaomi’s slimmest smartphone. It was unveiled earlier this year in China in October. Note 12 came in four models – the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Redmi Note 12 Discover Edition, and Redmi Note 12 Discover Edition. Among the four models, Xiaomi is bringing the Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, and Redmi Note 12 Pro+.
The models launching in India should have the same specifications as those in China. Redmi Note 12: What to expect A 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz will be a key feature of the Redmi Note 12. It could also come with Android 12 and MIUI 13 out of the box, powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, providing 5G support. It is confirmed that the smartphone will have a 5,000mAh battery, 33W charging, and 48MP+8MP cameras.
According to the teaser, the Indian variant of the Redmi Note 12 will have a tertiary camera, probably a macro. On the front, the smartphone could come with an 8MP sensor. More details will be revealed as the launch date approaches.
